Project site: Chaoyang district, Beijing
Area of land: 33,000 sq.m.
Building area: 179,000 sq.m.
Time of design: 2002
Time of completion: 2005
Super high-rise residences (with building height of more than 100 meters)
The project is aimed to be a high grade apartment, and there are two problems to be solved in the design level.
Firstly, how to maximize the product’s value through making use of the sight resources as Nanhu Park in the south;
Secondly, this building is required to be a “landmark” in the urban design, considering this project is located at the specific place of urban landscape node from the east 4th ring road to the Wangjing road.
The enclosing type layout makes the building separated from the original residential district. The tower building and slab-type building are arranged alternatively in the south of the land used, by which the sightseeing value is maximized, and an intense sense of “landmark’ is also achieved. The suspended entrance in the east creates a distinct sight corridor from the internal yard to the garden in the south, and the alternative storey of the air garden adopted by slab-type building also increases the building’s sight value.
