Beijing Digital Publication Information Center is a 5A intelligent office building under Beijing News and Press Bureau and its affiliated public institutions. The construction site is located at Houshi Road, Chaonei Street, Dongcheng District, neighboring Douban Hutong to the east, Chaonei Street to the south, Chemical Fiber Research Institute to the west and Dongsi Renovation Zone to the north. And, a cultural relic protection site—older Wuyefu courtyard (Fifth Prince’ Palace). It has a total building area of 49000M², 2 floors underground, 13 floors overground, and height of eaves 48m.

Design concept

  • Modify the building pattern provided that the planning and sunshine requirements are met.
  • Establish an independent but consistent arrangement between the Center and CNOOC in light of the building characteristics of CNOOC head office at eastern side.
  • In light of the historical, humanitarian and scenery value of older Wuyefu courtyard, this Center is required to establish a symbiotic relationship with the historical environment and building in terms of architectural layout and details.
  • Separate and integrate the building blocks to provide relative independency of building shape and meet the phased construction requirements of the owners.
